Travel Bag
What is an appropriate bag for travel in China?
I am traveling to China this summer for the first time. I am only 17 years old and would like advice on what type of bag to carry around while doing tourist things in China. I would like it to be big enough to put all my stuff in it but not too big. Any suggestions would be great!
You will notice when you are IN china that a lot of people walk around w a small backpack. They wear it on their FRONT, backwards but it allows them to see if anyone is gonna try to cut it or anything. I usually use a smallish one of those textile bags with just a length of cord through it to make the straps… like drawstring… dont know what you call it.
Its usually on my back and its usually carrying minor things that arent valuable. A few souveniers and my insulin and a small travel dictionary. My wallet, passport, cellphone etc are in a safer place like my FRONT pockets.
My usual bag is made from a mesh so its breathable cause (Southern) China gets super hot n humid in the summer and also because my insulin goes in a special water cooled case that needs to breath but Ive used a small modified hydration pack like a camelback too. A cheap one I bought in China fopr 12 bucks US and I cut the extra straps off… Ive also traveled w one of those small backpacks that fold or crumple down into a zippered keychain pouch when not in use… very handy… but any lightweight daypack will do.
