PS3 Black Ops Lag and speedtest Ping?

I am 2 M/S subscriber.connecting my PS3 wired to linksys router When i do speed test for my internet i get 255 KB/s but the ping is more than 300 which is too much high. i have read that the more ping get the more lag you will be having. can any one tell me how to get low ping or ist service provider problem

connection problem, I have a 20MB/s connection,

you can try to soft reset the router(power off 10 seconds). or ask helpdesk if someone is stealing your connection.
